Call Description

The University of Coimbra launches the 7th Edition of the funding programme for "Seed Projects for Interdisciplinary Research" with the support of the Santander Portugal Foundation, promoted by the UC Strategic Areas Unit (NAE), in collaboration with the Institute for Interdisciplinary Research (IIIUC). The funding of 100,000 euros aims to support interdisciplinary research projects. These projects must present the potential for obtaining relevant knowledge for the development of new lines of research that cross areas of knowledge at the University of Coimbra, within the scope of the Strategic Areas of the University of Coimbra.

Researchers integrated into the R&D Units or other structures of the University of Coimbra that develop research within the UC and received their PhD after October 1st, 2015 are eligible to apply as Principal Investigators (PIs) for this funding. The research team must include three to six researchers of the UC, including the PI, from at least two R&D Units of the UC in different scientific areas. The classification of UC R&D Units by scientific area can be consulted here.

Applications

Applications will run from 6 October 2025 to 6 November 2025. To submit your application fill out this questionnaire.

In order for the application to be considered complete, the PI must also fill in a questionnaire on the Santander Open Academy platform, which aims to collect the PI's identification data. This identification questionnaire must be completed prior to the submission deadline.
